Chapter 8
A Happy New Years

I heard a knock on my door. " Come in. " I said. Aiya, Chizuko, Fuko, and Haru walked in.

" Well well well. You know whats coming up? " Haru asked. " What? " I asked. " New Years!

" They shouted. I laughed. " Why are you so excited about New Years? " I asked. " Really?!

New Years is the best time to spend the whole day with your loved one. Get eachother

presents!  Perfect time for love to blossom! " Chizuko squealed. Aiya rolled her eyes. "

Plus I get to see my boyfriend! " Chizuko squealed.  I laughed. " So do I! " " Me too! "

Haru and Fuko said. I smiled. " Aiya what about you? " I asked and turned to Aiya. "

Ayee... " I mumbled awkwardly as Aiya sulked in the corner. " Ehem, word of advice, Aiya.

Please dont sulk in a corner or else mushroom will grow and dirty up the house. " Chizuko

said. Aiya glared at her. I giggled. " So what are you getting Naruto? " Aiya asked. I

paused and blushed. " Errm... I-I dont know.. " I mumbled. " Your kidding! You should ask

him out for new years! " Chizuko shouted. " Um, I think Naruto has plans with his

fiance.... " I mumbled. " Nahh, every Christmas Sakura goes on a trip to some faraway

place for a while. He is totally free. " Haru said. I smiled. " I guess I have no choice.

I mean you guys are going to help me ask him right? " I asked. " Hehehe Not just help ask

him.... muahahahaha " Chizuko said deviously. " Uh oh.... " I mumbled. Aiya pushed me

towards Naruto's room. I nervously knocked on the door. " Come in. " He said. I walked in.

" What is it? " Naruto asked as he drank his tea. " Ermm.. well I was uhh thinking that

maybe for... New Years we could hang out ? " I asked. Naruto paused. " Sure. I have

nothing better to do. " Naruto said. I smiled and walked towards Chizuko Fuko Haru and

Aiya. We jumped up and down in excitement. " Wait. " I said. Everyone stopped jumping. "

What? " They asked. " What are we doing to do? " I asked. " Well, you can go to the shrine

together and get your fortunes. Theres always some New Year's festival. You should go

there. Theres a legend about the ferris wheel in the festival. If you and the one you love

go on it when the clock strikes 12, you and that person will be destined together and

share eternal love. Oh how romantic! " Haru squealed. I blushed. " Well New Years Eve is

in 2 days. " Aiya said. I nodded. " We have some planning to do " Chizuko laughed. " I

cant wait! " I shouted. Two days passed, it was the morning of New Years Eve. We had

planned everything out. My outfit was set, the activities were set, everything. I've never

been so nervous in my life. " Hinata. Its the big day. " Chizuko laughed. I nodded. " Im

so nervous. " I mumbled. " Its alright. Relax. " Haru smiled. I waited eagerly for the

night to come. I worked hard and cleaned the house. I wiped the sweat off my forehead. I

glanced at the clock. " Oh no! Its 8:00 already! " I shouted and ran in my dorm. I took a

nice hot shower. I fixed my hair up into a nice bun. I put on my outfit and jacket. It was

8:45. I waited outside the mansion for Naruto. " Its so cold. " I mumbled. I rubbed my

hands together. " Sorry to make you wait. D-Dont judge I couldn't find my contacts. "

Naruto mumbled. My whole face turned red. Naruto looked so adorable with the black

glasses! " I-I think its adorable. " I mumbled. Naruto became a bit insulted but brushed

it off. " Shall we? " He held out his arm. I linked my arm with his and smiled. We talked

and laughed. We finally arrived. It was beautifully set out. " What shall we do first? "

Naruto asked. I smiled. " Lets try some of these games. " I laughed. Naruto and I played

and won so many prizes. It felt like we were a normal couple. I never seen this side to

him. I like it alot. Its so warm... His smile. This one.. is his true smile. I guess he

can really open up to me.. I glanced at the clock tower. It was 11:10. I smiled. Naruto

noticed me. " What are you smiling about? " he asked. " Well,its almost 11:11. I want to

make a wish. " I mumbled. The clock struck 11:11. I closed my eyes and made my wish. " I

wish that starting this year, Naruto and I will become closer and understand each-other

more. I whispered and opened my eyes. " What did you wish for? " Naruto asked. I smiled

and put my index finger on my lips. " Its a secret. " I smiled. Naruto laughed and threw

snow at me. " Ahh! Its so cold! " I laughed and threw one back. Naruto tackled me into the

snow. " Haha!! Okay Okay! you win! " I shouted. Naruto laughed and helped me up. We stared

into eachother's eyes. I waited for him to say something. " Naruto? " a voice called out.

I sighed. Naruto turned around. " Kyou? " Naruto mumbled. " Who " I asked. " Oh long time

no see! Im sorry I'll introduce myself. Im Naruto's childhood friend, Kyou. Ryou's twin  

sister. " Kyou said. My eyes widened. Kyou and Naruto talked for a while. It was 11: 30. I

became impatient and walked over to the shrine. I got my fortune. " Good Fortune " It

read. I stuffed it in my pocket. Kyou and Naruto were no where to be found. " I guess he

doesnt care about me after all. " I mumbled. I walked over to the ferris wheel. I got on.

It was 11:55. The ride started. I heard the townspeople shouted the seconds till New

years. Tears welled up in my eyes. They became red. I stared out the window. " HAPPY NEW

YEARS! " everyone shouted. I smiled slightly. " Happy New Years... " I whispered. The ride

stopped and I got off. I wiped my tears and began to walk home. " Hinata! " a voice called

out. I turned around. " Naruto? " I asked. " Hinata. Where were you? " Naruto asked. " The

ferris wheel. " I said as I pointed. Naruto cleared his throat. " Here. " He said and

handed me a small box. I opened it. I smiled. It was a gold bracelet. There was writing

engraved in it. It read, " Time is nothing more than numbers, its the memories that count.

" " Happy New Years. " Naruto smiled. I put it on and gave Naruto a big hug. Im glad to

have such a gift. Im so happy I fell in love with him.
